Product Description
Portable power! Charge your cell phone, iPod and other small electrical devices more than 10 times while on the go. Perfect for camping, music festivals and emergency use, the Coleman 4D XPS Portable Energy Pack operates on 4 D-cell batteries (not included) or use it with the Coleman XPS Rechargeable Battery Pack (sold separately).

The Coleman Portable Energy Pack includes standard 3.1mm and USB jacks for all your devices, with a built-in storage compartment for charging cords. On a set of 4 D batteries, the Energy Pack will charge a fully-depleted cell-phone battery about 20 times! The Energy Pack is a must-have for regions where alkaline batteries cost more than the products that use them.

This has been a great little charger while camping; with the Coleman CPX 6 V Rechargeable Power Cartridge it's even rechargeable. I just tag along my MicroUSB cable that I use with my cellphone at home and just plug it in when I need to charge (it also has a 5v 3.1mm jack, but no cable was included for use). It's larger than your battery backup that you may carry with you on the go (put two soda cans side by side and it's about that height and width, and it holds 4 D batteries, so it's not exactly light), it's more of a stationary item at camp.

There is a switch marked "A" and "B", the manual simply says that if your device doesn't charge on "A" to use "B"; it's probably one of those circuitry things that some portable batteries have, where port "A" is for Apple devices and port "B" is for any other device. Either that or a 1 amp vs 2.1 amp.

You'll probably want a spare CPX6 or a spare D cell pack to bring with you; our last camp out mine only lasted 2 of our 4 overnights, though I did end up having others charge their phones and I did get 2 full charges out of it myself (so probably 6 full cellphone charges). It finally died one night I was letting someone else charge their phone and they had a faulty battery; the consensus is that the charger did its job, the cellphone just never hit that "I'm full" mark).
